Crayola has announced that on Friday, National Crayon Day, it will live stream the retirement of one color from its box of 24. They issued the invitation via Facebook and are asking you to RSVP for the big event. I did because I'm a big fan of coloring, although I don't always stay inside the lines.

Zhorie'l Tapo, a first-grader at Plantation Elementary in Lafayette, is one of the grand prize winners for The Leader in Me Student Speech Contest. She, along with students in other age brackets, won a $500 Leadership Grant. Nearly 250 students participated in the nationwide contest.

THE B.A.A.K Benefit Day is June 1st. There will be two separate poker runs. One will be a traditional poker run and the other will be a dry run. There are also lots of other fun things scheduled for this great benefit.

Gracie and Julie Babineaux, two sisters originally from Forked Island now living in Meaux Louisiana have put out their first Cd self titled the "Babineaux Sisters". Let me tell you it's really good. The phenomenal thing is that they just kids. Gracie is 13 and Julie is just 11 years old. In their young career, they have worked with the likes of Wayne Toups, Steve Riley and Jamie Bergero

Starting Friday beginning at 11 a.m.,  the Annual Marine Corp League Toys for Tots toy drive begins at The Walmart Supercenter on Highway 14.
