As we reported last week, Brandon Lavergne was indicted by a grand jury in Lafayette for the first degree murder of the still-missing Mickey Shunick. But in a shocking twist in the case, Lavergne was also charged with the first degree murder of Lisa Pate, an Acadia Parish woman who was found dead in 1999. Now the Lafayette Parish District attorney is saying that both cases may be tried together.

The University of Colorado has released a photo of the “Dark Knight Rises” shooter.  James Holmes, 24, was arrested after killing 12 and wounding several dozen others during a midnight showing of the movie.

UPDATES 8:23 a.m.: Police have identified the shooter as James Holmes, 24.  CBS News reports that when police when to Holmes's apartment, it was "booby trapped" with ammunition and chemicals.  The death toll from the attack originally reported 14 deaths, though officials have since revised that number to 12.

Yesterday it was reported that a homicide had occurred in South Lake Charles at 5763 California Trail.  It was reported that the victim was a 62 year old male. Now the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office has confirmed that an arrest has been made in the crime and the subject turns out to be the victims wife!

The Lake Charles City police responded to Louie Street in Lake Charles Yesterday afternoon in reference to a domestic dispute involving a stabbing.  The following is a press release from Deputy Chief Mark Kraus with the City Police:

Its been 11 days now and the search is still on for Joe Constance who is wanted by authorities in connection to a homicide that happened in Lake Charles. A reward has now been offered by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office!  Here is a statement from the Sheriff's Office.

On May 19th, 2011 on the corner of Pear & See Streets in Lake Charles, LCPD responded to a shooting.  Since the investigation, LCPD has a suspect and needs your help trying to locate him.  Here is the info that LCPD has released.
