The national rankings came out this week and the LSU baseball team are ranked the number one team in the country in all six of the major polls.  The Tigers have a huge series starting tonight against not only an SEC foe but also the number two team in the country in Texas A&M in Baton Rouge.

The Tigers are 35-6 on the season and 12-5 SEC play and they will take on a stout Texas A&M Aggies team who is an impressive 36-5 on the year and have the same SEC record as LSU at 12-5.

What makes this series even more important is that LSU and A&M are tied a top the SEC West standings.  Game one of the series is tonight in Baton Rouge and starts at 6:30 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2.

Friday's game will be televised on the SEC Network Alternate channel while Saturday's game will be televised on ESPN.  All three games will be played in Baton Rouge at Alex Box Stadium.
