Movies Under The Stars Returns in October

The highly popular "Movies Under The Stars" is returning back in October of 2012 for it's fall run.  Movies are scheduled for all four Friday's in October at the Prien Lake Park in Lake Charles.

The Fall season is swiftly approaching and with it comes another stellar lineup for Movies Under the Stars! This year’s feature films include the swoosh of wizardly wands, Greek weddings, swashbuckling swords and Marilyn Monroe! Beginning Friday, October 5^th, and continuing the Series October 12^th, 19^th, and 26^th, friends and families will be treated to another great line-up of current and timeless feature films.

From music-makers to plate-breakers, Moves Under the Stars is pleased to present:

October 5^th – “Puss in Boots” – Before he met Shrek and the gang, Puss in Boots was quite a swashbuckling sword fighter all on his own. Watch all the felines swoon as this suave kitty teams up with Humpty Dumpty for an adventure of fairy tale proportions!

October 12^th – “Some Like it Hot” –  Two down on their luck musicians witness a mob hit and go undercover in a female band in this classic starring acting legends Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. The American Film Institute designated this film classic as the #1 movie in its 100 Funniest American Movies of All Time!

October 19^th – “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” – Greek meets non-Greek and falls head over heels into family mayhem! A love story that involves man, woman and relatives until death do us part.

October 26^th – “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” – Go back to the beginning with the story that captured everyone’s imagination in and got children reading all over the world. Follow orphan Harry Potter as he discovers the power of friendship and his magical destiny.

Movies Under the Stars is a free event to the public. Each movie will begin at 6:00pm. Residents are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets and food. Snacks can also be purchased on-site. Prien Lake Park is located at 3700 West Prien Lake Road in Lake Charles. In the event of inclement weather, dates may be cancelled.
