The highly popular "Movies Under The Stars" is returning back in April of 2013 for it's spring run. Movies are scheduled for all four Friday's beginning Friday, April 5th, and continuing the Series April 12th, 19th and 26th, 2013.

Spring has arrived at Prien Lake Park and that means it’s time to gather friends and family for a picnic at Movies Under the Stars! This year’s lineup includes an undiscovered hero, an over protective dad, aspiring entertainers and an impossible mission.

Here are a preview of all four movies that will be playing in April:

 

  • April 5th – “Wreck-It Ralph” – Ralph is a video game villain ready to switch sides and play the hero for a change. But can he do it without causing a “Game Over” calamity?
  • April 12th – “Father of the Bride” – They say love is wonderful, until it happens to your only daughter! Steve Martin is over-protective, nervous and hilarious as he faces up to the fact his little girl is in love with another man… her fiance’.
  • April 19th – “Muppets (2011)” – A greedy tycoon threatens to shut down the old Muppet theatre but he’ll have to face Kermit and three Muppet fans determined to get the old gang back together in time for one incredible show!
  • April 26th – “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” – Ethan Hunt and his new team go rogue when their organization is shut down after being framed in a bombing at the Kremlin. With no help or backup the team chases a dangerous terrorist from Russia to Mumbai in a spectacular array of action scenes and special effects

Movies Under the Stars is a free event that’s open to the public. Each event date will begin at 7:00 pm. Seating is first come first serve and residents are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets and refreshments. Snacks can also be purchased on-site. Prien Lake Park is located at 3700 West Prien Lake Road in Lake Charles. In the event of inclement weather, dates may be cancelled.
