Well Christmas has come and gone.  Now you are probably about to take down that Christmas tree you bought but don't know what to do with them!

Well we have the answer!  Here is what you need to do with that tree once you take it down.

The folks at the Police Jury sent us a message informing us on how you in the parish of Calcasieu can dispose of your Christmas tree.

Calcasieu residents who get their trash and garbage collected by Waste Management will be able to leave a typical 6 to 8 foot tree at the roadside without having to cut them down to size. Larger trees will need to be cut in half.

Residents serviced by Jim Bill Disposal may leave a tree by the side of the road up to 6 feet in height. Anything over 6 feet tall will also need to be cut in half.

Alternatively, a Calcasieu resident may also take trees of any size to one of two new residential solid waste convenience centers located on the east and west sides of the parish. The address to each location is written below:

  • East Maintenance Facility
    5500 B Swift Plant Road
    Lake Charles, LA 70615
  • West Maintenance Facility
    2915 Post Oak Road
    Sulphur, LA 70663

The Convenience Centers will be open December 26th and continue their regular business schedule. As a reminder, the Convenience Centers’ working schedule is listed below:

·         Thursday – Monday

7:00am – 5:00pm

So there ya go!
