30th Annual Iowa Rabbit Festival Begins Tonight In Lake Charles
It's finally here Southwest Louisiana! The 30th annual Iowa Rabbit Festival starts tonight in Lake Charles at the Burton Coliseum. The festival is full of great food, arts and craft booths, a huge out door amusement park and great entertainment.
This year the festival has moved from it's old location at the Iowa city park to their new home at the Burton Coliseum on gulf highway in Lake Charles. I went out there last night to check it all out and it is looking good! They were constructing the stage and here is a picture.
The festivities begin tonight when the doors open at 5:00 p.m. at the Burton. The music will start tonight at 6:00 p.m. and will go until midnight. Here is tonight's line up:
- 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. — Jamie Bergeron
- 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. — Keith Frank
- 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m. — Wayne Toups
Then tomorrow morning the Iowa rabbit festival cookoff begins at 7:00 a.m. If you did not register your team yet, you can show up tomorrow morning with all your gear and enter the cookoff then. Country music artist Brad Brinkley and Comfort Zone will perform live on the cookoff stage starting at 10:00 a.m. and play until 1:00 p.m.
Then we move inside the Burton Coliseum and announce the winners of the cookoff at 1:30 p.m. and then the music gets cranked back up at 2:00 p.m. and goes until midnight.
