Yesterday’s Rain Meant Backyard Fishing for this Hackberry Man
Most of SWLA got a good "gully washer" of rain yesterday. Some roads around Lake Charles did have some standing water, but nothing actually flooded from what I could tell. I was having some flashbacks to last year's flood a few times as a matter of fact. Usually, the rain means we still have to go to work unless you are one of the lucky/unlucky ones to "rain out". Then you get to go home and wish it wasn't raining because suddenly you're off of work. In the case of Brandon Moses from Hackberry, he made some lemonade out of the rainy lemons.
Brandon's wife, Amber, snapped a few pictures of their flooded backyard in Hackberry. She made the comment that they now knew who had the lowest backyard in their neighborhood. I'd have to agree, their whole backyard looks very pond-like in these photos. That's when our hero in the picture got the idea that it would funny to throw a line out in the water. The Moses kids were in school, and mom and dad were stuck at home because of the rain. Might as well act like kids for a while, right?
Amber says they actually did have turtles already swimming around in their backyard oasis, so it seemed fitting for Brandon to go ahead and see what he could catch. He grabbed a beer, and his fishing chair, and went to town. They say a bad day of fishing beats a good day at work. The look on this man's face just sitting there enjoying life would make me agree every single time.
Did he catch anything? No, Amber burst all of our bubbles and said he had no bait on the hook and was just catching grass. I think Brandon needs to give up the A/C business and think about acting, don't you? I was pretty fooled for a minute.
