Welsh To Play For State Championship This Friday Dec. 8 — Will Be On Radio
The community of Welsh is a buzz as the high school football team the Greyhounds are headed to New Orleans to play for the Class 2-A state championship this Friday afternoon.
The Welsh Greyhounds football team have breezed thru the 2A playoffs this season to punch their ticket to the dome.
Welsh beat Springfield 55-7 in the first round. They got by Independence 35-20 in the second round and beat the Kinder Yellow Jackets easily 44-14 in the Quarter finals.
Last week, Welsh hosted the semifinal game and beat Many 28-18 to advance to the championship game.
Welsh, who is the number one seed, will face #6 seeded St. Helena College and Career Academy. The game is set for Noon this Friday, December 8th, 2017 in the Superdome in New Orleans.
