Thanks to the many electricians and crews from across the country, SWLA is slowly but surely getting power restored every day. Half of the city is up, but thousands are still trying to make the best of a bad situation in the dark. As we rebuild from Hurricane Laura, special people like Nancy Economou are making life easier by bringing a little solar power to Louisiana.

Economou is the owner and CEO of Watts of Love, a Chicago-based nonprofit organization that brings solar lighting and other technologies to people living without access to electricity. Over the weekend, Nancy and her team brought 600 solar lights to SWLA to help people who are still living without power. The Watts of Love founder told KPLC her focus is on helping the elderly and those living alone.

Shout out to Laura and others who are dedicating their time and efforts to help Louisiana recover from Hurricane Laura,
