Tropical Storm Laura is expected to become a hurricane later today deep in the Gulf and is tracking to make landfall as a major hurricane right on the Texas/Louisiana border.

Tropical Storm Laura is still moving WNW at 17 mph, which means it is slowing down in the warm Gulf of Mexico waters. Currently, the maximum substantiated winds of the storm are 70 mph, four miles-per-hour away from being a hurricane.
