Hurricane season is in full swing and the Caribbean is churning with tropical storm Isaac.  Tropical storm Isaac is forecast to become a hurricane by 1:00 p.m. tomorrow.

We checked in with Chief meteorologist Wade Hampton from KPLC for the latest update.

Tropical Storm Isaac has now entered the Caribbean Sea after moving through the Lesser Antilles earlier. Isaac still has winds of 45 mph but strengthening is likely and Isaac could become a hurricane by Thursday night or Friday. What happens after Friday is still far too uncertain to say because of the potential impacts of Isaac moving over high terrain on the islands of Hispaniola and Cuba. I am not worried about a threat to Southwest Louisiana as of now; but we still need to watch it closely.
