Houston we have lift off!!!! The final mission is under way as the Space Shuttle Atlantis lifted off this morning from Cape Canaveral Florida of the final NASA Space shuttle mission.

I spoke with Chief Meteorologist Wade Hampton this morning LIVE from Cape Canaveral Florida from the launch site of the final  Space Shuttle mission for NASA as the prepare to launch Atlantis. Wade is out there covering the launch for all the folks back here in Southwest Louisiana and he was gracious enough to talk with me too.  Here is the latest from the launch site from Wade:

NASA's long running Space Shuttle program is coming to an end in July.  Space Shuttle Atlantis will be the final shuttle to ever go into space for NASA and the launch date has now been set.

The second to last Space Shuttle mission is now complete with Shuttle Endeavour landing early this morning.

The Space Shuttle Endeavour is set for its final mission in Florida.  Nasa has been preparing everything for Endeavour's Final mission.
