The Louisiana State Police made a major drug bust on interstate I-1o this morning.  Trooper James Anderson has released the follow statement and photos from the arrest.

Early this morning, troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop D stopped a 2011 Kia SUV for a traffic violation on Interstate 10 eastbound near Welsh in Jefferson Davis Parish.

Troopers requested and received permission to search the vehicle from the driver, 35-year-old John A. Flores of San Antonio, Texas.  Once inside the vehicle, troopers located 6 kilo-size packages of cocaine weighing approximately 14.2 pounds.  The estimated street value is over $200,000.

Flores was arrested for following too closely and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.  He was booked into the Jefferson Davis Parish Jail.

The narcotics section of the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations will conduct an investigation.
