A lot of people will pin the loss on the Colston's fumble in overtime. That is unfair as a couple of touchdowns instead of field goals earlier in the game could have erased the overtime and given the Saints a victory over the Falcons in regulation. It did not work out that way.

The Falcons rolled out 568 yard of offense against what is supposed to be an improved Saints defense. Poor tackling was prevalent through out the game on both sides as the Saints offense chipped in 462 total yards. Turnovers were also part of the sad tale. A Drew Brees interception in the Falcons end zone and the Colston fumble in overtime both resulted in Falcons points. Matt Ryan  had a record breaking day for the Birds with 427 yards and Matt Bryant sealed the deal with a 52 yard field goal in overtime.

Hopefully today's 37-34 loss to the Falcons is not an indication of what our defense will do the rest of the year.
