Superintendent of Education, Cade Brumley, announced Tuesday, August 11 that his department has set up an email for teachers, parents, and the public to report violations of Louisiana’s COVID-19 school safety standards.

The Board of Elementary and Secondary Education adopted statewide rules for schools that have reopened for face-to-face learning. The mandate includes a face mask requirement for all teachers, school faculty, and students from grades 3-12, establishes social distancing standards, temperature checks prior to school entry, and capacity limits on school buses.

Brumley said they have already started to receive concerns and they are posted online here. If you are concerned about a school not abiding by the mandates set forth, email the education board at ldoecovid19support@la.gov. Upon receipt of the email, a survey will be sent back to the complainant to fill out and return. That info will then be sent to the school at the source of the problem for their leadership to defend.
