[PHOTOS] Cruisin’ The Bluff Car Show Happening Later This Month
The 5th annual Cruisin' The Bluff Car Show is a must attend event for car and truck lovers of all ages.
I was fortunate enough to be invited to their event last year and pick a winner for the "Mikey O award". It was a blast and I really love that the event benefits an amazing cause, Operation Christmas Child.
From the Samaritan's Purse website:
The Samaritan’s Purse project Operation Christmas Child collects shoebox gifts‑filled with fun toys, school supplies and hygiene items—and delivers them to children in need around the world to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way. For many of these children, the gift—filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received.
It doesn't matter if you're into muscle cars, trucks, jeeps, vintage vehicles, or sports cars they got it all at Cruisin' The Bluff.
Every year the event organizer Steve Cape makes custom trophies from scratch for all the category winners. This guy is uber talented and I can't wait to see what they look like this year. He recently gave us a sneak peek on Facebook on how the construction of the trophies were going:
This year Cruisin' The Bluff is having a radio control demo derby. They're going to fit the cars with balloons and screws to pop the balloons on other cars. The last car standing with at least a single balloon left will win.
When I was a kid, I really got into RC cars after watching a Punky Brewster episode where she had to dress up as a boy because they wouldn't let girls join a RC racing club. She ended up smoking them in the race before revealing she was a girl. After that I was constantly asking my parents to buy me RC cars and at one time I had a pretty decent collection.
