This time of the year is festive for many but it is also a time where many including myself will be dealing with personal losses during this time of the year. This will be my first Christmas without my mother who I lost in January of this year. While I still have many of my loved ones, it will be a different feeling without her being here.

This is also a time where taking care of yourself is a priority, depression running high, and many need to place their Mental Health as a priority. I have some great news as the City Of Lake Charles and Lake Charles Memorial Health System is giving low to moderate-income residents some help during this time as needed. The City of Lake Charles has been granted special funding due to the CARES Act Funding. Many in Lake Charles have had plenty of down moments due to the COVID pandemic as well as the effects of the Hurricanes, Flooding, and Ice Storm. There comes a time when we all need someone to talk to.

If you are interested in applying or for additional information on how you can get help or recommend someone who needs help or counseling. Please call the Lake Charles Memorial Health System at 337-480-7801.
