McNeese Football Shows Off Stadium Recovery
After two hurricanes, the Louis Bonnette Field, affectionately called The Hole, where the McNeese Pokes play took quite a hit, like most areas of the campus. Wind ripped through the baseball stadium, flooded the football stadium, and damaged the new basketball facility beyond recognition in the process.
The playing field was named after the long-standing sports information director, Louis Bonnette. His son, Matthew, took his place after retirement. In 2011, the field house was remodeled to upgrade it and be named the Jack V. Dolan field house. It was given climate control and features a club room, weight rooms, offices for coaches, and a lot of other updated features.
Now, the field itself is getting redone after Hurricanes Laura and Delta took their toll on the field and stadium. McNeese's Football Facebook page shared some photos of the field getting redone, and it truly is a good feeling to see progress being made as it gets ready for another season of football.
