Legendary LSU Baseball coach Skip Bertman will be honored by the university with a statue in his honor outside of Alex Box Stadium.

Bertman who was the LSU Baseball coach from 1984 to 2001.  During his tenure, Bertman led the Tigers to five National baseball championships and seven SEC championships.

LSU already has a street named after the legendary coach.  Skip Bertman Drive runs right in front of the football stadium and where the old Alex Box Stadium used to be before they built the new ballpark.

The LSU Athletic department said the ceremony will take place this Friday, September 13th, 2019 at Alex Box Stadium near the home plate entrance at the stadium.  That is where the new statue will be reveled for the first time.
