The LSU Tigers are less than a month away from opening up the 2014 college football season.  When the Tigers take the field for their first home game on September 6 against Sam Houston State, they will do it with the highest number of season ticket holders in the stands.

LSU has sold out of season tickets for the 11th-straight year, as a school-record 74,350 season tickets have been purchased for the 2014 home game schedule.

With the south endzone expansion increasing the Tiger Stadium capacity to 102,321, LSU was able to offer nearly 6,000 more season tickets this year.

LSU has sold out of season tickets every year dating back to the 2004 season when 66,232 season tickets were sold the year after the Tigers won the BCS National Championship.

The Tigers will open up the 2014 season in Houston when they take on Wisconsin at NRG Stadium (Formally Reliant stadium) 8:00 p.m. and will televised on ESPN.
