Last night on ESPN, the fourth week of the College Football Playoff Rankings were released.  This is college football's answer to the post BCS era where four teams will qualify for two playoff games with the winner of each game squaring off in the championship game to determine the National college football champion.

The Alabama Crimson Tide vaulted to the top of the standings this week after beating then #1 Mississippi State last Saturday.  With the release of the AP and USA Today polls early in the week, it was also no surprise that LSU was not included in this weeks College Football Playoff rankings since they fell out of the top 25 in both of the polls earlier in the week.

After LSU was blanked 17-0 by Arkansas last Saturday, the Tigers fell from #17 in the rankings to out of the top 25.

The Tigers are off this Saturday and will return to action Thanksgiving night when they take on Texas A&M.
