Louisiana Native Hunter Hayes Wins CMA New Artist Of The Year
Hunter Hayes from Breaux Bridge, Louisiana burst on the country music scene about a year ago with his debut single "Storm Warning". Since then Hunter has scored a #1 hit with his second song "Wanted".
Tonight, Hunter who started out playing accordion and playing Cajun Music, just won the Country Music Association (CMA) New Artist of the year award live on national television.
Hunter went up against Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, Thompson Square and Love and Theft to take the award home.
It's been a great year for Hunter Hayes. Hunter's self titled debut album has twelve tracks on it. Hunter's #1 song "Wanted" was certified gold earlier this year after is sold over 500 thousand copies.
Also, Hunter was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall Of Fame by fellow member Jo-EL Sonnier and now Hunter is going out on tour with Carrie Underwood.
