Louisiana Fire Marshall Issued a Statewide Burn Ban
This decision was made Tuesday, March 24 by the state Fire Marshal Butch Browning and the Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain.
Private citizens will only be allowed to burn with permission from their local fire department or government. This order will stay in effect from today, March 25, until further notice.
The Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal said this ban will not apply to burns conducted by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry.
Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal also warns residents that violating this ban could result in criminal and/or civil penalties.
