Is this fair? To send a Louisiana Chef to "compete" with other ordinary cookers of food? I know we are a little biased when it comes to how much we love our Louisiana cuisine so it's no surprise that the Food Network has selected a Baton Rouge based food blogger and lover of Louisiana food, Jay Ducote to be a participant on The Next Food Network Star.

Ducote is no stranger to the Food Network cameras. He has already made appearances on the network's Cutthroat Kitchen and Master Chefs. However, being chosen for this show, that has given birth to some major food stars, is quite an incredible opportunity.

It's a crazy, intense, challenging competition that is all about proving that you could be a culinary celebrity and Food Network Star

Ducote will be competing with 12 other contestants to capture the attention of the TV show's judges and the American public. If he is successful he will be given the opportunity to create and host his own Food Network Show.  You can catch the premier of this seasons Food Network Star beginning this Sunday evening at 8pm. Check your local listings to find out where to watch Food Network in your area.
