Lottery Losers Win Tickets

The Louisiana Lottery had a five dollar New Orleans Saints scratch of ticket that was sold. People who purchased those scratch off tickets that did not win could mail them into the Lottery office for a chance to win a Saints prize pack.

The Louisiana Lottery have announced the winners and two of them are from the Lafayette area.

The winners get to go to this Sunday nights game between the New Orleans Saints and the Detroit Lions.

Three lucky New Orleans Saints football fans, including two from the Lafayette area, will be attending the Dec. 4 game against the Detroit Lions in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome thanks to their nonwinning Louisiana Lottery scratch-off tickets.

Mark LeBlanc of New Iberia, Pierrette Monette of Lafayette and Debra Nolte of Keithville entered their nonwinning $5 New Orleans Saints 2011 scratch-off tickets in the Lottery’s second-chance drawing and were selected as 2011 Saints Prize Package winners. Each will receive four Plaza Club Sideline tickets with access to the Plaza Bunker Club, a parking pass, four pre-game field passes, one night hotel accommodation (two rooms), a $200 dinner allotment and $500 spending cash.

Both Lafayette-area winners were thrilled to learn their entries had been selected as winners. A black and gold diehard, LeBlanc is certainly no fair-weather fan. “I was a Saints fan back before they were a winning team,” shared LeBlanc, a local baseball coach. “I remember watching them play on T.V. wearing a bag over my head. Not anymore!”

“I’m bringing my fiance’, sister and brother-in-law to the game with me,” shared University of Louisiana at Lafayette criminal justice and political science student Monette as she blinked back tears. “My brother-in-law is so excited about going to the game that he has called me nearly every day. We’re just so excited!”

More than 45,000 New Orleans Saints 2011 scratch-offs were entered into the second-chance drawing. The Lottery is still accepting entries for one more drawing, the deadline for which will be announced once the game is closed.

During the final second-chance drawing, one entry will be selected to win a 2012 Saints Prize Package that includes four Plaza Sideline 2012 season tickets, a 2012 parking pass, four 2012 pre-game field passes, a tour of the Saints Practice Facility and lunch with the Saints head coach in the team cafeteria for up to four people. In addition, 25 entries will be selected to win official autographed Saints merchandise prizes to include a helmet, jersey or football.

To enter the final second-chance drawing, players should complete the information on the back of nonwinning New Orleans Saints 2011 scratch-off tickets and mail one ticket per envelope no larger than 4.5” by 9.5” to the drawing address printed on the back of the ticket. The entry must arrive at the second-chance drawing address by the announced final entry deadline to be eligible for the drawing. Players can enter as many times as they wish, but each entry should be mailed in a separate envelope.
