The First Ever Louisiana High School Athletic Association Cheer and Dance State Championships will take place Saturday December 3rd 2011 at the Civic Center! Here are more details about one exciting event to hit the city!!

The Dance Championship will begin at 9 am on this Saturday inside the Lake Charles Civic Center and will recognize the artistry and athleticism of the dance and cheer squads throughout Louisiana. The winners will also have the opportunity to be eligible for national competition. There is an entrance fee of $10 and will be good for all sessions for the entire day. There will also be a Jr. High Cheer Teams competition beginning at 2 pm. Awards will be given out based upon the number of squads participating in each of the fourteen competition divisions including the Jr. Varsity divisions, small, medium, Large and Super Varsity Divisions. The is all brought to you courtesy of the LHSAA, which is a private entity that provides and regulates interscholastic athletic programs that promote fair and equitable competition among its members schools that is in the best interest of the student athlete.
