LCPD Investigating Early Morning Shooting

Lake Charles, La. - The Lake Charles Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting, where an unidentified victim sustained injuries.

According to a media release, on Monday, July 31, at 2:30 a.m. officers responded to a shooting at the Place Vendome Apartment Complex, located at 1900 Prejean Drive. The victim told officers when he walked outside of his apartment he was "approached by 5 or 6 subjects wearing masks and hoodies." One of the subjects pulled a gun and shot the victim, causing injuries to both of his wrists. The victim was treated at a local hospital.
