Lake Charles Police Makes Arrest In Early Morning Homicide

This morning just after midnight, The Lake Charles Police Department responded to 710 Iris Street apartment 206 in reference to a subject bleeding.  Upon arrival officers located  an 18 year old black male deceased.

The deceased has been identified as an 18 year old black male, Edward Wilkes, address is 710 Iris Street, Apt, # 302, Lake Charles, La. 70601.  Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for 18 year old American Indian Cody Ray Lucero, address of 710 Iris Street, Apt # 206, Lake Charles, La. 70601. The warrant is for 2nd degree homicide and bond is set at $1,000,000.00.

 

 

The investigation lead Lake Charles Detectives, SWAT Officers and U.S. Marshall's Office to Kinder Louisiana where with the assistance of the Kinder Police Department and Allen Parish Sheriff's Office Lucero was taken into custody without incident.  Lucero will be booked into Allen Parish Sheriff's Office jail then transported back to Lake Charles.
