Lake Charles is getting a new restaurant. Fat Pat's Bar & Grill is under construction as we speak and will soon be open at its new location on 2620 Dillard Loop Lake. Lake Charles, LA 70607. In case you are unfamiliar, the restaurant is family-owned and based out of Lafayette, LA.

They opened in 2007 and have built a good name for themselves, by making delicious food and while creating a family-friendly atmosphere everyone could enjoy. The story goes, the restaurant was named after one of their cooks. Fat Pat was his nickname and I'm guessing that was because he was a big boy. His motto was for people to "never trust a skinny cook" and it stuck. Take a look at what's on the menu, and you will see there is a good reason the restaurant has been a hit ever since.

You will most certainly blow your diet at Fat Pat's, but it's going to be well worth it! The family business has blossomed into a full-blown food dynasty with four restaurants and counting. The Lake Charles location will be opening its doors in the next few weeks and I must say I'm looking forward to it. SWLA is all about great food and it looks like Fat Pat's Bar & Grill will fit right on in!

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
