K-Bons Closing After This Weekend: Gets Name Change
This weekend will be the final weekend for the place we all know as K-Bon's. The restaurant that sits right on the border of Lake Charles and Iowa announced that it will be closing its doors after this weekend. Monday it will reopen with a new name and under new ownership.
So far, it doesn't seem much will change from what we are used to with K-Bon's: live music, plate lunches, seafood, and more. Just the name will change a bit and so will some of the hours of operations. So what will the name be?
Seems fitting for a place that does have a giant back porch area for eating and listening to your favorite local musician. The Back Porch has a Facebook page and they are already updating their info on it as they get closed to their opening date. It seems like it will be a lightning-fast transition as they are set to open the doors on Monday, June 13 featuring fried crabs!
In the meantime, K-Bon's will be open this week and celebrate the big changes coming with a Friday and Saturday full of live music and fun. Friday night will feature Pierce Breaux and Saturday will have Robin Prejean and Bluesiana Red.
Make sure you go check out the new place next week as the area welcomes The Back Porch in Iowa or Lake Charles. I guess it really depends on what side of the border you are on, doesn't it?
