Long Time bass guitar player for the popular local band "Louisiana Express", Jerome "Jerry" Mouton has died at the age of 77.

Jerry is a native of Breaux Bridge Louisiana and  had played bass guitar for over 40 years now.  First with a band called Uncle Remus and then a long stint with Louisiana Express.

Louisiana Express and Jerry have played with some of the biggest names in Louisiana music.  Percy Sledge, Johnnie Allan, TK Hulin, GG Shinn, Tommy McClain and so many others.

According to Johnson's Funeral Home's website, services for Jerry Mouton are:

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday February 22 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Thursday at 10:00 AM, concluding with a funeral service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

So sad to hear the news.  Rest in peace my friend.  heaven just sounds better now with you up there playing some great music!
