Louisiana Fisherman Catches Enormous Record Breaking Alligator Gar
A Louisiana fisherman recently set a new Toledo Bend fishing record by catching an absolutely massive alligator gar weighing in at almost 300lbs.

The reservoir is home to several species of catfish, including blue catfish, channel catfish, and flathead catfish.
Stripped Bass, Crappie, and varies species of Sunfish can also be found at Toledo Bend.
However, it's the recent catch of a massive alligator gar that is making headlines.
Louisiana Record For Biggest Alligator Gar
According to louisianaoutdoorwriters.com, the largest alligator gar ever caught on record was 179 lbs, caught by Jimmy L. Thompson in 1997 out of the Red River.
An alligator gar was just recently caught at Toledo Bend that shatters that Louisiana state record by almost 100 lbs.
In a recent post to Facebook by Paradise Louisiana, it was announced that a new Toledo Bend record was set, and certainly eventually will be entered into the Louisiana record books.
