The Paris Games are over and once again Team USA Women's Gymnastics proved once again that they the best in the world with another spectacular showing at this year's games.

As a member of the U.S. women's gymnastics team, Laurie made a name for herself at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where she helped secure the gold medal in the team event and won a silver medal on the balance beam.

 

Her dazzling routines and electrifying performances quickly earned her the nickname "The Human Emoji" due to her expressive facial expressions and positive energy.

Beyond her gymnastics career, Laurie has ventured into the world of television and literature. She won the 23rd season of "Dancing with the Stars" and authored a memoir, "I Got This: To Gold and Beyond," inspiring readers with her story of resilience and dedication.

The Alzheimer’s Alliance of Smith County is a local, independent nonprofit organization committed to walking beside all those in Smith County on their journeys with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia-related illnesses since 1982.
