Among the fishing community, East Texas is known for its lakes and outstanding fishing opportunities. Whether you're fishing for largemouth or striped bass on Lake Palestine, Lake Fork, or Sam Rayburn Reservoir or fishing for white or black crappie on Lake 'O The Pines, you're gonna catch a great fish.

There is some serious fishing happening in East Texas and fishing enthusiasts will soon be able to find anything and everything they need to reel in that big catch thanks to the opening of a high-profile fishing and outdoor store, something that's been missing for several years.

Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World will be opening a store in Tyler, Texas.

Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World will be remodeling and renovating the old Gander Mountain / RVs.com location on S. Broadway next to the Village at Cumberland Park Shopping Center.

The new facility will be more than 73,000 sq. feet and will undergo a $13 million dollar renovation.

Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World will be located at 151 Market Square Blvd. on the site of the previous Gander Mountain / RVs.com location near The Village At Cumberland Park shopping center on S. Broadway. (US Hwy 69).

An application for the project was filed through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation on Tuesday. According to the application the renovation is scheduled to begin August 17, 2024, and should be completed February 13, 2025.

Not only will Bass Pro Shops be welcomed by fishermen/women, but hunting, camping, outdoor recreationists, and boaters are just as excited because they'll no longer have to make the trip to Grand Prairie, Garland, Grapevine, or Bossier City to get the gear they need for a perfect fishing or outdoor getaway.
