Dr. M.K. Holder, a scientist in the Center for the Integrative Study of Animal Behavior at Indiana University, says. However, "handedness" has been studied for nearly 160 years, but there is no definitive reason. Over the past century, much has been learned about the percentage of humans that favor their right hand over their left or how rare "lefties" are. Your brain determines what hand you use most.

Why? That's the part Dr. Holder was pointing out we don't know. Right-handed people tend to be left-brain dominant and vice versa. They have learned that there are some surprising distinctions in people with a dominant right or left hand.

Below are a few fun facts about what makes "lefties" unique and why "righties" can do certain things better. There are also side-by-side comparisons of the ability of a right-handed person vs. a left-handed person.

Whichever one you are, I must hand it to the people who put these experiments together. This is some interesting stuff!
