As a child, you practice hitting the game-winning shot at the buzzer in the backyard. For Chloe Larry, that became a reality last night. All of those backyard makes paid off on one of the biggest stages as she nailed a buzzer-beater to send Parkway to the State Finals.

This week in Hammond, America, the 2024 LHSAA Girls Basketball State Tournament is taking place. Thursday Night the semifinals were capped off in one of the most memorable ways in tournament history.

In the Non-Select Division I semifinals on Thursday night at University Center, Parkway, the defending state champion, defeated No. 1 seed Walker 64-63 thanks to a spectacular 3-pointer from half court made by Chloe Larry with seconds remaining. Larry's heroics completed a fantastic comeback in overtime as well as an incredible 29-point performance.

This presents an opportunity for the Lady Panthers (25-4) to defend their championship from the previous season, which they won with the nation's top player, Mikaylah Williams of LSU, leading the squad.

This is not the first buzzer-beater, and probably won't be the last. Last season the Oakdale Lady Warriors hit a shot to advance to the Championship Game at the buzzer as well. Check it out here...

The shot to win the game in overtime is drawing a ton of National attention. It was featured on ESPN with Scott Van Pelt after the game Thursday Night, and then it was listed as the #1 play on the Sports Center Top-10 on Friday Morning.
