This seems to be a weekly or monthly thing lately. Every time we turn around another local business in Southwest Louisiana is announcing that they are closing their doors.  We have lost so many locally owned businesses in the lake area this year which makes us sad.

Another restaurant and food trailer seems to have decided to close its doors permanently. The eatery we are talking about is called the Red Bird Cafe, located at 23450 Abie Fontenot Road in Iowa, Louisiana.

According to their post on Facebook, they closed their doors last Friday, December 15th, 2023 for good.

The owners of the Iowa restaurant also posted a message about the announcement and said,

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the closing of Red Bird Cafe & Red Bird Cafe food trailer as of December 15, 2023. We have been proud to serve you and it has been a pleasure getting to know each and every one of you. I will treasure the memories we have made together and I hope that you will keep us in your thoughts and prayers. God has a plan for all of us and for me, it is time to slow down, stay close to family, and spend time with the ones I love.
Again my Heart is Full from the loyalty and the love that we have received from our customers.
Well said, folks. We wish Mrs. Carla, the owner, nothing but the best of luck and pray for guidance in their next adventure. Here was her entire message.
