Lake Charles, Louisiana - There's a weekend full of events here in Lake Charles, and that includes something for the kiddos. This weekend, Movies Under the Stars is back in Lake Charles, and they'll be showing the movie Zootopia 2.

Movies Under the Stars is put on throughout the year by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury. This is their 2nd show of the month, as last week they showed The Bad Guys 2.

Each Friday night, a different family-friendly film will be shown at 6:30 p.m., with events taking place at various locations around Calcasieu Parish. Guests are encouraged to bring their blankets, lawn chairs, and snacks; free popcorn and cotton candy will also be available.

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury reminds families to arrive early to get a good spot on the lawn. There will also be free popcorn and cotton candy for guests. You can also bring your own snacks and drinks if you’d like.

Free Movie This Friday Night in Lake Charles - Zootopia 2

This week, “Movies Under the Stars” will feature Zootopia 2 and will take place on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Prien Lake Park.

Next week, there will be another free movie featured on the Movies Under the Stars series, as they'll be showing Lilo and Stitch at Mallard Junction Park on April 24th.

So grab your chairs, bring the family, and enjoy a fun night under the stars in Lake Charles.
