Mardi Gras Holiday Will Interrupt Lake Charles Garbage Pickup Times
We are all gearing up for the big Mardi Gras holiday and events in Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana beginning on Friday and running until Tuesday for Mardi Gras Day. Folks will be entertained with parades, concerts, gumbo cook-offs, football, and fellowship with friends and family.
You may not have thought about this but there will be at least five parades, a Superbowl game, a huge Lundi Gras concert on Monday with Keith Frank, and other crazy fun things to do the next five days.
So because of that the City of Lake Charles has asked us to pass along that residents in Lake Charles trash pickup days and times will be changed for the Mardi Gras Holiday. They said,
Trash and garbage normally picked up on Tuesday will be rescheduled for pickup on Wednesday, February 14, 2024
Monday, Thursday, and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules.
All Recycling stations, including the Team Green Recycling Truck and the Incinerator will not be open on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. They will resume regular operating hours on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
Also, Laura Heller with the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury said they will be closed on Marid Gras dat and also touched on trash pick up for citizens in the parish. She said,
All Calcasieu Parish Police Jury departments will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 13, for Mardi Gras. Offices will reopen on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
