In front of thousands of local Baton Rouge students, a random Tuesday Morning game is one that Louisiana Girl Mikaylah Williams may never forget.

Mikaylah Williams, a Freshman from Bosier, had a career day on Tuesday as LSU defeated Kent State 109-79. A year ago, Williams was preparing to make a run for a State Championship with Parkway High, this season she is preparing to win a National Championship with the LSU Lady Tigers.

Mikaylah was a Five Star athlete that was ranked the No. 1 player in her class by AGSR, Prospects Nation, and Jr. All-Star National Rankings … The two-time reigning Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year led Parkway High School to a State Championship as a senior Williams is an all-around talent at the guard position who played in the McDonald’s All-America Game and was named the 2023 Morgan Wooten National Player of the Year.

Williams was also named to the Naismith High School All-America team and named the USA Basketball 3×3 Athlete of the Year. Mikaylah has significant experience playing with Team USA, being named the MVP at the U17 World Cup on the way to earning gold in Hungary and also earning gold at the FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup, also in Hungary.

A tight matchup at the break between LSU and Kent State as the Lady Tigers would lead by just two 39-37. That's when the Mikaylah Williams show began.

The freshman scored 14 points on 6 of 8 shooting in the quarter, including LSU’s first two 3-pointers after an 0-6 start. She was hardly done. Williams added 18 points in the fourth quarter. Her final line: 15 of 20 shooting including 5 of 8 from 3-point range, 7 of 7 at the free-throw line, and 7 rebounds. Mikaylah would finish with 42 points on the day.
