Looking for a cool event to check out this weekend? The Lake Charles Symphony's 2023 Summer Pops Series gets started this Saturday with some great live music.

So what is the Summer Pops series? Summer Pops combines classical music with contemporary artists and it's a fun concert for all ages.

This Saturday, July 8th, 2023 at the Lake Charles Civic Center the Lake Charles Symphony will present Louisiana Saturday night featuring multi-nominated Grammy nominee Sean Ardoin live in concert.

Sean was nominated for a Grammy award just this year for his album that involved the LSU marching band called Sean Ardoin & Kreole Rock and Soul featuring LSU Golden Band from Tigerland - Full Circle.

A little know fact is that Sean Ardoin is an LSU graduate and former Tiger Band drummer so it only makes sense that he would want to do an album with his former band and that is why the latest album was called Full Circle.

According to the Lake Charles Symphony,

The Lake Charles Symphony has commissioned Orchestrated Music to accompany Sean’s Zydecajun Music. This will be the first time that he will perform with a full orchestra.

The show will start at 7:00 pm and the cost to attend is $45 for adults and children 12 and under are $25. You can also reserve a seat at a table for $75 or get a seat for two people for a special price of $70 for both people. For more details, head over to the Lake Charles Symphony's website here.
