Is the car seat or booster seat the correct one for your child? Is it properly installed correctly? All those questions can be answered this Saturday morning at the National Safety Seat check in Southwest Louisiana.

It is being put on by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission, the Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force, and the Louisiana State Police. It is important to have the correct seat for your child's size and have it properly installed in your vehicle before you travel.

Professionals will be on hand at this free event where you can bring your vehicle with the current car seat you have and bring your child to and certified safety seat technicians will be on hand to check to make sure that have the correct seat for the size of your child and also to have it properly installed in your vehicle.

The event will take place near the McNeese Recreation Complex at 4150 Ieyoub Family Drive in Lake Charles from 9:00 a.m. to noon.  Basically, it going to be located between the parking garage on Common Street and the Nursing school building in South Lake Charles.

The State Police will also have a limited number of booster seats that they will be giving away during the event. So parents and grandparents and also your caregivers, here is a great way to make sure you have the proper car seats in your vehicle and that they are properly installed too. Plus you could get a free booster seat while supplies last.
