Events & Concerts Happening Memorial Day Weekend In Lake Charles & SWLA

The Memorial Day weekend is heading your way this weekend and most of you will have a three-day weekend with Memorial Day taking place on Monday, May 27th, 2024. Some of you may hit the road to go out of town while others plan on staying put right here at home.

Those of you staying in town are most likely looking for something fun to go do this weekend and that is where we come in with a list of things to do in the area.

There will be ATV and Side-by-side drag races going on at the I-10 Beach in Lake Charles on Friday and Saturday. Then Saturday night a free concert at the Horseshoe Casino featuring LA ROXX.  Click here for the list of times and events. 

The Downtown at Sundown concert series gets underway this Friday night in downtown Lake Charles. This Friday, May 24th will feature the bands Sunkissed and Nicki Needham & the People’s Victory from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Stand-up comedian Matt Matthews will be live on Friday night at the Golden Nugget's Grand Event Center in Lake Charles. He will hit the stage at 8:30 pm that night.

Geno Delafose will be live at Linda's Lounge on Lake Street in Lake Charles on Friday night. Geno and the band will perform from 10:00 pm to 1:00 am.

Johnny Jimenez will be live at Linda's Lounge on Lake Street in Lake Charles on Saturday night. Johnny and his band will perform from 9:00 pm to 1:00 am.

Casey Donahew will be live on Saturday night at the Golden Nugget's Grand Event Center in Lake Charles. He will hit the stage at 8:00 pm that night. Here are the details.

This Saturday night, May 25th, there is a free concert in the back of the Horseshoe Casino in Westlake right next to the water featuring LA ROXX. Come by land or by boat to enjoy some live music. The band will start at 8:00 pm that night.
