At the beginning of every crawfish season, is where you will see the highest prices for crawfish served at restaurants across the state. The higher prices are usually because the supplies are limited at the beginning of the season. Then you start to see a steady drop through the Lent season.

But to get the best bang for your buck, you need to wait until this time of the year to make them more affordable for you to purchase, especially if you need to feed a bunch of people.

So what are the current prices for hot boiled crawfish in the Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana area? We did some looking around, and here is what we found. In the area, some crawfish drive-thru spots are offering a pretty good deal for boiled crawfish if you buy 10 pounds or more.

We have seen some 10-pound or more specials going for as low as $3.99 a pound. Now, if you want to buy less than that, the prices are usually a tick higher. We have seen restaurants and drive-thru places offering boiled crawfish for $4.99 to $5.99 a pound for less than 10 pounds.

Live crawfish is going for as low as $2.75 a pound at some places. Don't forget you can shake it up a little bit with some drive-thrus that are also offering meal deals, which include crawfish, shrimp, corn, and potatoes, which could satisfy any appetite.
