2023 Le Cajun Awards And Music Festival Set For This Weekend

Are you a fan of traditional Cajun music? Do you love the heritage and culture of Louisiana Cajun music? Then get ready for a really cool event taking place this weekend in Rayne, Louisiana.

The 2023 Le Cajun Awards And Music Festival is taking place in Rayne, Louisiana this Friday and Saturday, August 18th and 19th, 2023. The 2023 Le Cajun Awards is a ceremony that takes place to honor the best of the best of the past year's music accomplishments.

Awards will be handed out for Accordionist of the Year, fiddler of the year, male vocalist of the year, band of the year, best first CD, best traditional CD, and more. Also, there are special awards given out such as the Pioneer Award, New Dawn Award, and Continuing Contribution and Excellence awards.

I had the honor of winning both the Pioneer Award and the Continuing Contribution and Excellence award a few years back and in 2018 the Cajun French Music Association honored me by induction g me into the Cajun French Music Association Hall of Fame as a Cajun DJ.

The awards will take place on Friday, August 18th starting at 7:00 pm. Then the festival will get underway on Saturday, August 19th, 2023 and they will have live music by the Bayou Cajuns, Kade Domec and Full Throttle, and ceremony band Kade Domec.
