Listen, I know fast-food workers are overworked, underpaid, and underappreciated. I've been there, got the t-shirt and a bumper sticker. Working at a fast-food joint is VERY HARD work. Straight-up, they really need to pay these people better wages too. It's hard to be happy when you are working your butt off and still can't pay your bills! Plus, working with the public, especially in today's climate is tough. I also understand that there is a massive shortage of workers as well. I have a business, and finding people who want to work is almost impossible. I totally get it. However...

Somehow pride in doing a good job and customer satisfaction has gotten lost. It's like there is no order, no one knows what they're doing and no one really cares. Some of the fast-food restaurants out here, if their dining room is even open, are pretty dirty. It's like nobody wants to sweep the floor or wipe the tables. Don't go to the drive-thru either. Honestly! You know the Madea movie, where she drives her car into the front of a fast-food joint because the worker was so nasty to her in the drive-thru? That is how I feel sometimes. Some of these people have really bad attitudes!

I went to a fast-food restaurant last night (I knew better, but I went anyway) and as usual, they didn't have half of the things on the menu. What is up with that? This particular place is always out of major restaurant items, like meat or cheese. I really don't know how they stay open. We order our meals, they ask us to park and tell us they will bring it out. A young lady walked our food out to us and dropped the bag in my hands, rather than hand it to me. Mind you, I don't think she was trying to be ugly. She was just young and rushing, but I almost dropped everything. We get home and find out that the order was wrong, another hallmark of this particular spot. I was madder at myself than them, because the service is always bad over there.

It is really a shame, but a lot of the big chain fast-food restaurants in this city have really fallen off. Because of my experiences, I avoid certain restaurants altogether. I will even drive to the other side of town to get food because some of these places are that horrible. I am sorry, but I just had to vent. Is it just me? Am I the only person dealing with fast-food restaurants from hell?

LOOK: Things from the year you were born that don't exist anymore

The iconic (and at times silly) toys, technologies, and electronics have been usurped since their grand entrance, either by advances in technology or breakthroughs in common sense. See how many things on this list trigger childhood memories—and which ones were here and gone so fast you missed them entirely.
