There was a shooting on Friday, July 13, 2018, at 4:48 p.m., on Interstate 10 eastbound, near the Enterprise Blvd exit. Investigators with the Lake Charles Police Department determined that "drivers of two separate motor vehicles that had been waiting in traffic, west of the Interstate 10 bridge when they became involved in a dispute. As they continued to travel eastbound on Interstate 10, the driver and a passenger of one of the vehicles produced a firearm and began shooting at the other vehicle." Luckily no one was injured.

One of the shooting suspects was identified on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, as Anthony J. Spears, 38, of Lake Charles. A judge issued an arrest warrant for Spears for attempted 2nd-degree murder for $150,000.

LCPD SWAT officers located and arrested Spears at his residence located at 704 Williams Street for attempted 2nd-degree murder. Spears also racked up another charge because he was in possession of crack cocaine during the arrest, said a media release.
