So if you are a fan of the reality show 'Duck Dynasty' then you will be happy to know that the reality series will be returning on A & E for another season in January of 2016.  It may come to a shock to a lot of industry insiders that the show will be back since the ratings have been on a steady decline the past few seasons.

In fact the series saw it's biggest ratings in over a year this past August when Willie and Korie Robertson’s eldest son, 19-year-old John Luke got married to his now wife Mary Kate McEacharn.  The show averaged a 1.04 rating in adults 18-49 and 3.26 million viewers overall, according to Nielsen ratings.

In its heyday of 2013, “Duck Dynasty” was among the top-rated shows on television in key demos of adults 18-49 and 25-54. And though it has fallen off — due in part to controversial comments by family patriarch Phil Robinson that got him suspended from the show in December 2013 — it remains a ratings force.

With it still getting over 1 million viewers on average each week, that is why I guess the A & E network decided to bring the show back.  All that is being said on the A&E website is that Duck Dynasty season 9 will be back in January of 2016.
