CPSO Searching for Bank Theft Suspects who Stole an ATM
Westlake Bank ATM Theft
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office (CPSO) along with Westlake Police Department (WPD) is investigating a theft from a bank on Sampson Street in Sulphur, after they were dispatched on Saturday, August 3, at about 1:00 am.
Upon arrival, they observed the ATM was missing from the banks parking lot. A trailer and forklift were also discovered abandoned in the parking lot. Further investigation revealed the trailer and a truck had been stolen from a business on Hwy 90 East in Lake Charles. Investigators also learned the forklift was stolen from a business on Candice Lane in Lake Charles, said a media release.
According to Kayla Vincent, "video surveillance was obtained from the area near the bank along with the areas near the businesses where the truck, trailer, and forklift were stolen. After watching the surveillance detectives observed the stolen truck pulling the stolen trailer and forklift travel to the bank and steal the ATM".
CPSO deputies responded to a call of a vehicle on fire at Bayou D'inde Pass in Sulphur, where they then located the burned truck and a burned ATM.
It's believed there may be three suspects involved as well as another vehicle described as a dark-colored Dodge truck.
Anyone with information regarding the thefts or who can identify the suspects in the photos to contact CPSO at 491.3605 or the WPD at 433.4151. The CPSO Vehicle Crimes Investigation Unit are working the stolen truck, trailer, and forklift, while WPD detectives are working the stolen ATM.
